With 270 degrees of shade and 118sqft of coverage, the Rhino-Rack Batwing awning is an essential piece to any overland trip where additional coverage is needed over the Sunseeker.
The awning is made of a high-quality rip stop 210D P/OX W/R PU 2000mm material which is water and mould resistant, and independently tested at UV50+ for UV protection. When packed, the awning is stored in a replaceable bag made of heavy duty 580gsm PVC.
One of the main improvements Rhino-Rack made with the Batwing awning over their older, Foxwing awning, is that when packing up the awning, the legs are now stored in the bag, where previously they had to be stored separately. These are adjustable, rust-resistant, and have a moulded foot for putting pegs in at the base.
Each purchase includes the following:
10 pegs, 1 peg bag, 8 bright orange guy ropes (with 4 hooks), a tie down point and strap, 2 multi-fit brackets and hardware, and 2 spare hinge knuckles.
In terms of specs, the awning weighs 47lb, comes with a 1 year warranty, and has the following dimensions: 98" x 98" x 91".
NOTE: The included hardware kits allow the awning to be mounted to Rhino-Rack's Vortex bars, Pioneer Platforms, Pioneer Trays, and Pioneer Elevations, as well as Thule's Aero bars. For the Square / Euro and Heavy Duty bars, additional hardware kits will need to be purchased.
